Teenage off-road motorcycling star Billy Bolt is top of the world after a stunning win at one of the sport’s biggest international events.
Tynesider Billy, who is sponsored by Palletforce, beat a world-class field in the first round of the inaugural World Enduro Super Series in Portugal.
The championship brings together Hard Enduro, Classic Enduro, Beach Racing and Cross Country disciplines, and aims to determine who is the best all-round rider.
The 19-year-old Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider rode to victory on a gruelling course, and now heads the leaderboard as the series moves on to the next round in Austria.
“I couldn’t ask for anything better than winning round one,” Billy said. “Although I’m one of the youngest riders in the championship I feel like I’ve prepared as best I can to fight with the top Enduro riders in the world.
“It’s my first major international Enduro victory. I’ve been close a couple of times before but never quite made it over the finish line, so I’m really happy to get the job done. To do it at the first ever round of the World Enduro Super Series is extra special.”
Palletforce has supported Billy for three years, having first identified his talent as a budding trials bike star aged just 16.
And sales and marketing director Dave Holland says everyone has been hugely impressed with the youngster’s meteoric rise to the top of his sport.
“Billy’s talent has never been in doubt, but he has now shown he has what it takes to be the very best,” he said.
“We are thrilled with his success in Portugal, and will be right behind him for the rest of the season.”
