A fourth-generation family haulage firm has become the latest member of Palletforce’s growing network. Campeys of Selby will cover the Doncaster area, reinforcing Palletforce’s strength in south Yorkshire, handling selected DN postcodes.
Founded in 1930 with just one truck, Campeys now has a fleet of 55 vehicles and a staff of 70. Paul Campey, the company’s managing director, is the grandson of founder Harry Campey.
Paul’s son, also called Harry, is transport manager and says that the decision to join Palletforce was the next logical step in the further growth of the company.
“We were looking at various networks who we thought would be able to provide the support we needed to grow and take our business to the next stage,” he says. “It quickly became clear to us that Palletforce was the stand-out choice.
“Not only do they have an unrivalled track record of investment, technology innovation and volume growth, they are also underpinned by a membership consisting of some of the best operators in the industry.”
Palletforce now has over 100 members, with five new companies joining already this year, and operates across the UK, Europe and into Asia. It recently joined with five of the UK’s leading logistics companies to form EV Cargo, one of the UK’s largest providers of transport, logistics and freight-forwarding services and logistics technology, and a global supply chain company operating in more than 120 countries.
Palletforce member relations director David Breeze said: “We continue to invest in our network by ensuring we have the finest quality members providing the best possible service across every UK postcode. Our ongoing investment in capacity and the ability to connect global trade continues to attract members with growth aspirations and we are delighted that a company with the history and values of Campeys of Selby has become the latest to join
