Palletforce says it is set to boost customer service even further with the introduction of the ‘Pallet Selfie’, building on the industry-leading technology which helped it win the coveted Motor Transport Best Use of Technology award in July.

Utilising unique scanning and imaging software equipped to its fleet of forklift trucks based in the central SuperHub, Palletforce will be able to capture crystal clear images of each pallet passing through its network.

With continued investment in state-of-the-art technology, the unit will automatically detect a pallet and collect the image, allowing Palletforce members and their customers to see the conditions of pallets as they are unloaded and loaded.

The system is seamlessly integrated into the patented forklift weighing and tracking system, ensuring Palletforce will be the only express distribution network to weigh, photograph and scan every single pallet it handles.

The information cleverly feeds into the company’s Alliance system – providing members and their customers with an additional level of traceability and enhancing the quality service provided to customers.

Already acknowledged as having the best technology in the industry, this further investment sees Palletforce cement its position as sector leaders and delivers greater commercial benefits to the membership.

Dean Hughes, Palletforce IT director, said: “We made a commitment to our members that we would invest in technology and systems to lead the industry and the introduction of the ‘Pallet Selfie’ is another move which keeps us ahead of the competition.

“The current market is hugely competitive and that’s why Palletforce continues to invest in infrastructure and technology. Our members’ customers already benefit from unrivalled tracking and tracing of their goods and now they will be the only pallet network customers to have full transparency as well.”
