It’s mission accomplished for Palletforce-sponsored trailbike star Billy Bolt, who has been confirmed as champion of the 2018 World Enduro Super Series.
The 21-year-old Tynesider finished 12th at the final event of the year in the Netherlands earlier this month, giving him an unassailable lead over his nearest rivals.
Palletforce has sponsored Billy since his early days as a budding trials rider and has been right behind him during his meteoric rise to the top of the sport.
Sales and marketing director Dave Holland said: “With his natural talent and determination to succeed, Billy has been a superb brand ambassador for Palletforce on the world stage and we are thrilled that he has now realised that early potential.
“The Enduro Super Series has pitted him against some of the very best riders in the world, yet he has proved he has what it takes to battle his way to the top.”
Riding for the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team, Billy’s 2018 campaign started with victory in Portugal.
Despite his fair share of ups and downs during the championship, including a mid-season knee operation, his podium results during the closing stages of the series ultimately put him in the championship driving seat ahead of the final round.
Billy said: “It’s been such a long season, with so many different races, and to finish at the top when it’s all come to a close feels unreal.
“It’s been a real rollercoaster season for me ,with some challenges and then my knee surgery, so to stand here now having won WESS is brilliant.
“I’d like to thank Palletforce for all their support over the years, and I look forward to continuing our relationship next season when I’ll be going for gold once again.”
This has been the first year of the World Enduro Super Series, which brings together Hard Enduro, Classic Enduro, Beach Racing and Cross Country, along with the Red Bull Hare Scramble to determine who is the best all-round rider.
