EV Cargo’s Palletforce is helping to deliver a competitive advantage to its members and customers thanks to the newest addition to the UK’s fastest-growing express distribution network.

Covering selected PO postcodes around Portsmouth, leading commercial freight specialist Ferryspeed is the fourth member to join Palletforce in 2023.

The recruitment of this long-term strategic partner, alongside a number of recent additions including JMCL Freightways, Virginia Hayward Logistics and the acquisition of Dobbs Logistics, will collectively ensure Palletforce members benefit from unrivalled service along the south coast.

A cross-channel specialist, Ferryspeed operates a twice-daily shipping service to the Channel Islands from its base in Portsmouth and its recruitment will provide Palletforce members with long-term service continuity and a stable platform to grow their business along the south coast.

Palletforce Network Development Director David Breeze said: “We’re very excited to welcome Ferryspeed to the network. Their addition is of significant strategic importance for our members and their customers.

“Not only will they allow us to further strengthen our service on the south coast, but they’ll provide our existing members with a competitive advantage and create commercial opportunities to grow their business in the area.”

Founded in 1985, Ferryspeed operates from 250,000 sq ft warehouse, which includes a 50,000 sq ft HMRC bonded, chill and frozen facility.

With a 250-strong staff and a fleet consisting of more than 280 vehicles and 500 trailers, it also has additional depots in Jersey, Guernsey and Leicester.

Ferryspeed Director Nick Green said: “We are excited to join the Palletforce network and are impressed by its commitment to quality, service and providing long-term growth opportunities for its members.

“With a focus on customer satisfaction here at Ferryspeed, we share the same ethos and are looking forward to working collaboratively with the Palletforce membership.”
