Palletforce continued to celebrate motorsport success when rally driver David Bogie sealed the 50th rally win of his career on round three of the 2018 MSA Scottish Rally Championship.
Behind the wheel of his Palletforce-supported Skoda Fabia R5 rally car, five-time Scottish Rally champion Bogie and co-driver Kevin Rae dominated the RSAC Scottish Rally to take a popular home victory.
The Dumfries driver was fastest on five of the six competitive stages through the tough forests of southern Scotland and steered clear of punctures on the rocky roads which caught out other drivers.
Bogie went quickest on the first stage, edging out a three second advantage. But when his closest competitor picked up a puncture on the next stage, Bogie extended his lead to 28 seconds and literally left the competition in his dust on the dry and rock-strewn roads.
He dominated the event and delivered a controlled drive to cross the finish ramp in Moffat over a minute clear of his chasing rivals, taking the overall honours for the second year in a row and marking an historic landmark result.
David Bogie said: “It’s always nice to win your home rally, but this one is number 50 for me so that makes this pretty special.
“It’s been a hard day. The recent dry spell of weather has made the conditions very tricky but I think it was a controlled drive. Our job was made easier when other drivers got punctures so after that it was a case of keeping the car straight, trying to avoid getting a problem and netting this win.”
Dave Holland, Palletforce sales and marketing director, said: “Being market leaders and constantly delivering the best possible quality in a competitive market is what Palletforce and its members do on a daily basis. This ethos and enthusiasm cascades down to each one of our brand and sports partnerships and we are all proud to have played a small part in David’s dominant 50th rally victory.”
